Land Rights & Native Title
Land rights in Queensland include native title but also include other land rights about things such as sacred sites, places and objects.
Jeff and his family are the traditional owners of an area of land that the government would like to use for a new road.
The government has not contacted Jeff and his family and they are worried about some sacred sites in the area that may be damaged if the area is cleared for the new road.
