Housing
Housing problems can be about what you have to do such as paying rent and looking after the house. They can also be about what the landlord has to do such as fixing things which break and doing repairs and maintenance so that people can safely live in it.
Jean was renting a house which she had lived in for 4 years. Jean had been off work sick for 3 weeks and started to fall behind in the rent. She has received a letter in the mail from the landlord which says ‘notice to remedy breach’ telling her to pay the rent that is overdue immediately.
Jean is worried she will be put out of her house if she cannot pay the rent straight away.
