Discrimination & Vilification
Discrimination is when you are treated differently from someone else because of something about you like your race, age, religion, sex or disability.
Cathy and her sister Lisa went into town to go shopping for dresses for a wedding. While they were in one of the shops they noticed the stop assistant following them around as they looked at the clothes. They saw there were other people in the shop who were not being following around.
They thought they were being followed because they had dark skin and the other people in the shop did not. Being watched made them feel very uncomfortable and they left the shop. This spoiled their shopping day and they went home.
