Book Up / Book Down
Book Up/ Book Down is when you ask and get credit from a store or business for goods or services which you will pay for later.
Shane was returning home after graduating from TAFE and wanted to celebrate with a family feast. Because he had just finished TAFE he did not have a job yet and asked the local store if he could book down the food he needed for the feasting. The store owner let him book down the food which came to $500.
Three months later Shane was still trying to find a job and had not been able to pay any of his book down at the store. The store owner said that if he did not pay the whole $500 within two weeks he would take him to court.
